The Press-Register reported the tragic story of a 53-year-old man who died in a one-car motor vehicle accident on March 13 after his van crashed into a utility pole in north Mobile.

Doctors from the University of South Alabama Medical Center, who treated the victim of the accident, said that he has suffered a massive heart attack while driving the van, causing him to lose control of the vehicle.

It was not clear from the report whether the man died from the heart attack or injuries incurred in the crash. High speed and alcohol were definitely ruled out as causes of the accident. Fortunately, however, no other motor vehicles were involved in the crash, nor were any passengers riding in the car with the driver.
