The Press-Register reported a motor vehicle accident involving three cars in south Mobile County Friday evening. A mother with three children in her car pulled out of a driveway and crashed into another car, critically injuring the mother.

The second vehicle caught on fire after a third slammed into the mother’s car, said Alabama State Troopers, who also reported that alcohol played a role in the crash. The accident is still under investigation.

All six of the injured people, two of them children, were taken to area hospitals for immediate treatment. The mother is still listed in critical condition.

As the holiday season ensues, sadly more motor vehicle accidents will occur. All drivers and passengers should wear seat belts and drive defensively during this busy season when more vehicles are on the road.
