After a number of cat and dog deaths due to contaminated foods produced by Menu Foods, many pet owners are worried about the safety of their furry friends.

A report from KTSM news out of Texas says that dog and cat food manufacturer Menu Foods has issued a national recall of more than 60 million cans of “cuts and gravy” style pet food. The recall includes cans made between December 3, 2006 and March 6, 2007 sold at Wal-Mart, Safeway, Kroger, Petsmart and other retailers.

There have been reports of at least nine cats and one dog who died of kidney failure after consuming pet foods produced by Menu Foods. These defective pet food products include more than 50 brand names such as Iams, Best Choice, America’s Choice and Paws.

For more information about contaminated pet foods, visit www.menufoods.com or call Menu Foods at 1-866-463-6738.
