Across the nation, you’ll find dozens of headlines reporting motorcycle deaths each week. A December 6th report out of Florida says that a Florida Atlanta University student was killed on Singer Island when the motorcycle she was riding on as a passenger crashed into an SUV.
Although many of these motorcyclists who die on our nation’s roadways are wearing helmets, the rest of their bodies are not protected. Often, the driver of the motorcycle or other vehicle involved in the crash was violating a traffic law.
It seems that motorcyclists should take extra care to be safe and avoid dangerous situations if they are going to ride a vehicle that does not protect them in the same way a car, truck or SUV would. Conversely, other drivers should always be aware that motorcycles are on the road. Then motorcycle accident headlines wouldn’t be so common.
