LG Sourcing, in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), announced a voluntary recall of 90,000 Torchiere lamps sold by Lowe’s Stores. A short circuit located in the lamps’ wiring can pose a fire hazard to users.

To date, the company has received two reports of lamp fires, with no reported injuries.

The recalled lamps have a product number of 179878 on the packaging and can also be found on the bottom of the lamp base. Lamps sold between March 2005 and 2007 with UL listing number E246506 are included in the recall.

Consumers are advised to immediately stop using the recalled lamps and return them to any Lowe’s store for a full refund.
