A case before the U.S. Supreme Court may give that currently right-leaning body the opportunity to kill the class-action suit.  Hard to believe that it’s even possible, given the extent of the corporate abuse of customers that the world economy has just (barely) survived.   The class-action suit was the vehicle by which big tobacco, unfair credit practices and harmful pharmaceuticals have been brought to justice.  This procedure by which minuscule claims, in isolation, are resolved in the aggregate, benefit more than just the class which brought suit.  Every business compelled to institute fair business practices and comply with the law benefits society as a whole.
